June 28th, 2009…not much fun, I had to bag the grass I mowed because it got too tall to mulch!! Bianca also started to destroy my front yard, we started to remove all the stuff I hate in the front to replace it with something better. Pictures are soon to follow…

June 10th, 2009I finally got the picture gallery up and running, uploaded a bunch of pictures.
I still have hundreds of pictures to upload and will get to those over the next few weeks along with any new pictures I take.
New Camera
June 9th, 2009 So after a few weeks of reading reviews and such I finally stepped into the world of SLR picture taking. I picked myself up a nice Nikon D40 from Target for $449.99; went to Target because we had some gift cards laying around which gave me a nice 65$ discount. Since I am going to start taking more pictures I thought I would finally get around to fixing the picture gallery, I use Gallery2 for all my photo albums online. Had to destroy what I had and start from scratch, hopefully it will remain stable and I won’t have to destroy it again.
Anyhow, back to the camera; it came with a nice 35mm to 55mm f/3.5 to 5.6G ED II AF-S DX lens (3x optical zoom and auto focus is all I got out of that). I am not a professional photographer nor have I ever owned such a complex camera, I have always had those cheap point and shoot cameras that don’t last very long and take crummy pictures. I decided since I now have some growing kids to take care of I might as well get something nice to capture the memories.
I will be using my site and blog to host my pictures and show off my lack of photographic skill…I am hoping I get better and learn over time.
